Cancellation & Refund Policy

This policy applies to prepaid and online booking flows offered through Bharat Taxi website and related services. It should be read together with the Bharat Taxi Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

1. Scope

This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains when a ride booking may be cancelled and whether any refund may be issued for a booking or payment made through Bharat Taxi digital channels.

2. When cancellation is allowed

A booking may be cancelled only before the ride has started.

  • The ride is considered not started if the assigned or accepted trip has not yet commenced and the booking has not been used to begin the journey.
  • Cancellation requests made before ride start may be reviewed and processed in accordance with operational checks, fraud controls, and payment verification.

3. When cancellation is not allowed

Cancellation is not allowed once the ride has started.

  • If the trip has begun, no cancellation request will be accepted.
  • If the ride has already been completed, cancellation is not possible under any circumstances.

4. Refund policy

Refund eligibility depends on the stage of the ride and the payment status.

  • If a valid cancellation is made before the ride starts, any approved refund will be processed back to the original payment source or by another permitted method, subject to payment partner timelines.
  • No refund will be issued if the ride has started.
  • No refund will be issued if the ride has been completed.
  • No refund will be issued for used ride services, fully consumed bookings, or completed transport services.

5. Failed, duplicate, or disputed payments

  • If a payment is debited but the booking is not created due to a technical issue, Bharat Taxi may review the payment status and process an appropriate correction or refund after verification.
  • If duplicate payment is confirmed for the same booking, the excess amount may be refunded after internal review and reconciliation.
  • Refund timelines may vary depending on banking channels, payment gateways, and card, UPI, or wallet providers.

6. Non-refundable situations

The following are non-refundable:

  • Completed rides.
  • Any booking where the ride has already started.
  • Claims made contrary to actual trip records, payment records, OTP usage, or booking logs.
  • Requests rejected due to misuse, fraud suspicion, policy violation, or chargeback abuse.

7. Processing timelines

Where a refund is approved, Bharat Taxi will initiate it within a commercially reasonable period after verification. The actual credit timeline depends on the payment gateway, bank, UPI app, card issuer, or other payment intermediary.

8. Right to review and reject claims

Bharat Taxi and Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd. reserve the right to review booking records, OTP status, trip activity, driver records, payment confirmations, and fraud indicators before approving any cancellation or refund request.
